Tidal Bay home work

Tidal Bay 8288796 300x196 Tidal Bay home workHoward Johnson says Tidal Bay (7/1 with Betfred to win the 2010 World Hurdle) will just work at home ahead of this month’s Cheltenham Festival.

The trainer has revealed that the nine-year-old is unlikely to go anywhere for a racecourse gallop, instead just “ticking over” as they finalise preparations for the World Hurdle.

Tidal Bay looked to be back somewhere near his best when winning the Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham in January and is now focussed on a victory at the Festival.

Johnson, whose Abbeybraney is 14/1 to win the National Hunt Chase Challenge Cup, will give some of his horses a workout at Doncaster following the racing action on Saturday, but it looks like Tidal Bay will be staying at home.

Johnson said: “He isn’t a horse who takes much getting fit so we’ll just keep him ticking over until Cheltenham and hope the ground is right.”

Make sure you keep a regular check on Betfred’s horse racing betting markets before making your selections for Cheltenham.
